# Activations

Activations are Layer3's core building block: guided, verifiable onchain experiences. Each one walks you through real actions on real protocols (swaps, deposits, mints, bridges) and verifies completion onchain before you move to the next step and claim your reward.

## Anatomy of an Activation

An Activation combines:

* **Onchain actions**: interact with a smart contract, hold a token or NFT, transfer, swap, or bridge. Layer3 verifies each action automatically.
* **Educational content**: info cards, quizzes, and polls that explain what you're doing and why it matters.
* **Social steps**: connect your X, Discord, or other accounts for community-gated steps.
* **Rewards**: tokens, XP, CUBEs, and more, claimable the moment you finish.
